We offer a free consultation to any amputee who requests one.   Prosthetics is the art of fabricating and fitting artificial limbs (prostheses).   At Ability Matters we understand the impact that a prosthesis can have on your day to day life and the need for you to be fully informed of the options and choice available for your individual needs.

I am a current Medical Card Holder

The usual process for Patients with Medical Card:

• A referral letter is required for an assessment
• Clinical assessment to assess need
• Application to the appropriate health board for funding on an individual basis
• When sanction is received the job will be started
• Patient will be called for the appropriate appointments
• The job will be done in a timely and professional manner

I am a Private Patient

Our private patient service puts you and your needs first. You can choose from a full range of the latest upper and lower extremity prostheses, as well as life-like custom silicone limbs.

The Usual Process for Private Prosthetics Patients:

• We fully discuss all prosthetic options with you, and inform you of advantages and disadvantages of each available to you
• We supply you with a detailed and transparent quotation,
• As soon as you wish to proceed, we will arrange a treatment plan which suits each individual as much as possible
• Any job undertaken will be done in a timely and professional manner
• We offer appropriate advice to prosthetic users regarding everyday use of a prosthesis
• We offer the latest technologies from appropriately trained professionals
• We offer clinical excellence in state of the art and pleasant surroundings
