TracerCad

Ability Matters has a TracerCAD system, which can be used to design and fabricate prosthetic sockets.

Tracer CAD prosthetics

The following is a brief description of how this technology is used to assist the prosthetist to provide a suitably fiitng prosthesis:

A Digital Pen is used to precisely trace a shape, this is converted into digital information.

This information is then converted into a 3-D shape using specialised software and modified on screen where clinically appropriate.

Our OrthoCarve CAD-CAM carver then carves a foam block into the desired shape with a high speed drill bit which is then ready for manufacture

The TracerCAD system dramatically changes the way prosthetic sockets can be manufactured and can dramatically reduce the delivery times of prosthetic limbs.

When necessary, patients can be provided with a limb within a matter of days.  The patient's records are stored electronically for future reference and the file can be easily modified in the future to provide patients with the best possible fit over time.
